Last night Stephen was interviewed by Jane Suiter of DCU and talked about his journey so far in politics, with a few fun stories including his first days in the Dáil:

“On my first day I got off the DART at Pearse Street, walked up Merrion Street and there were two guards standing at the gate. I said ‘how’re you doing, Stephen Donnelly reporting for duty’ … they didn’t crack a smile, but the eyes started to twinkle and they said ‘congratulations deputy, it’s a great honour, this is the Museum of Natural History.’”

Here’s a few pics of the evening taken by Michelle Geraghty:

On the other side of town Liam Coyne and team were getting a fantastic reception on the doorsteps of Perrystown

Liam isn’t our only candidate who runs his own business, Glenna Lynch (Dublin Bay South) and Niall O’Tuathail (Galway West) are also small business owners, so it’s no surprise that the Social Democrats are getting huge support from local businesses all over the country.

Those same two candidates pictured above, Anne-Marie McNally (Dublin Mid-West) and Gary Gannon (Dublin Central) have also made the prestigious list of “Irish Election Rides.” Now that’s a poll worth topping!

Catherine Murphy handed in her nomination papers for her 7th Dáil Election in Kildare North.

Ken Curtin also got his papers submitted – the first of all the candidates to do so in Cork East. First up, best dressed. That’s the SocDems way.

If you’ve signed up to get involved in the last few days and we haven’t replied yet – we’re getting to you! Our inbox has been flooded with people all over the country asking to get involved and we’re getting back to each of you one by one. We’re the good kind of overwhelmed.

If you’d like to get involved, now is the time!

Thanks again to all of you who have donated. It’s already being put to great use all over the country equipping our ever growing volunteer force to spread the Social Democrats message.

If you’d like to donate, any amount large or small is always welcome –
