I’m Isobel Towse, the Social Democrats Councillor for Skibbereen West Cork which spans from Clonakilty to Cape Clear and up to Dunmanway, encompassing so many stunning west Cork towns and villages.
I grew up on Sherkin Island and I have been living and working between Clonakilty and Rosscarbery for the last 10 years, teaching music in schools and working in amazing local businesses.
I am a new mum, an environmental advocate and I am passionate about representing the people and communities of West Cork in a sustainable way. I will bring an energised, empathic, young, female voice to the table, to help bring about the change in Irish politics we so badly need.
I have a BSc in International Development and Food Policy, and a Diploma in Environment, Sustainability, and Climate, both from UCC. For 2 years I have been secretarial assistant to a county councillor in a neighbouring Local Electoral Area, helping constituents meet their needs and improve their communities.
I joined the Social Democrats because I believe we can deliver the changes in policy and approach that are necessary to address the growing crises in housing, health, and climate.
