Meet Eibhlín

I’m Eibhlín Seoighthe, the Social Democrats General Election candidate for Galway West and Councillor for Galway City Central.

I’m committed to making our city the best place to live.

I’ve lived in Galway for most of my life and I’ve never wanted to live anywhere else. Everywhere I go, I am very proud to tell people that I am a Galway woman. But Galway isn’t an easy place to live in, like it used to be and like it should be. We need better public services and greater investment in our communities, housing, and transport infrastructure.

Thank you for giving me the chance to drive the change that Galway needs.

People make communities and communities build cities. I want to empower every person to make Galway the most liveable city it can be.

• Housing – Prioritise the delivery of social and affordable homes so that our young people don’t have to emigrate.
• Healthcare – Fight for increased localised healthcare services to ensure accessibility.
• Sustainable Planning – Campaign for proper and future-proof planning within the context of population growth to ensure equal access to opportunity.
• Community Empowerment – Empowering local voices to make Galway a safe and liveable city for all its residents.
• Supporting Local Culture – Supporting local businesses, markets, and festivals to retain Galway’s unique charm.
