Social Democrats TD Catherine Murphy has received an email from the Minister for Mental Health and Older People, Helen McEntee, clarifying an incorrect response given by the Minster to Deputy Murphy regarding HSE funding to Console.
Deputy Murphy had raised a Topical Question on the Console controversy with the Minister who responded in the Dáil saying that Console had received no funding from the HSE in 2016. The Minister has now written to say that this was in fact incorrect and Console has actually received €321,498 in HSE funding in 2016.
Catherine Murphy said:
“It is important that the correct information is in the public domain on this matter. I had notified various journalists and interested parties of the Minister’s response to me in the Dáil saying that there had been no HSE funding this year so I wish to pass on the clarification from the Minister that in fact a substantial amount of funding has been transferred from the HSE to Console this year.”
