Social Democrats Councillor Cian O’Callaghan has welcomed the decision by An Bord Pleanála today to grant planning permission for the Baldoyle to Portmarnock cycling and walking route

Cllr O’Callaghan said:

“The decision by An Bord Pleanála today to grant planning permission for the Baldoyle to Portmarnock cycling and walking route is very positive news. This key piece of infrastructure will form the first part of the Sutton to Malahide Greenway and will provide continuous, dedicated cycling and walking infrastructure near the Fingal coastline.

“Over the next few years these new routes will connect with infrastructure coming on steam such as the Malahide Castle to Newbridge House cycling and walking route.

“This new infrastructure will benefit commuters, local residents, visitors to the area and tourists. With large scale development taking place in Baldoyle, Portmarnock and surrounding areas it is important that this project is delivered in a timely fashion.”
